Grand Knights Letter

Yes, the Columbian Year continues to move at a very fast pace.  Here we are in February with our successful focus of “Keep Christ In Christmas” already past and “Ash Wednesday”- the season of Lent already in view.   With the troubled world and conditions which exist both locally and nationally, I can’t think of any better time than now to offer our Lenten preparation during these weeks, to penitential reflections with special thoughts and prayers for World Peace.

What a wonderful feeling it would be as Pope Benedict arrives on our shores in April, that the world will have changed and we will be talking peace with our brothers.  As Knights we do make a difference.  May all of you and your families have a very happy and blessed Easter.  May the risen Christ be with you always….

OH, By the Way- Happy Anniversary To All Brothers of St. Michael Council# 4548.  Newsletter in Gold to commemorate the February 23rd event.

Let us Make A Big Difference Together.up

Chaplain’s Recognition Night

Fourteen members of our Council attended dinner at Cavaliers Country Club honoring our chaplain Fr. Joe Wisniewski.  In total, 122 Brother Knights were in attendance including Bishop Saltarelli and many other Councils chaplains.  It was a great evening.up

A Message from our Chaplain Father Joe Wisniewski…

In the coming 40 days, as we rejoice in the Lord’s Resurrection, relive the initial wonderment of Mary and the first disciples,I suggest you ask the Holy Spirit to deepen in you the virtue of hope.

Hope is a well-founded trust in the promise that the risen Lord made to his Church.  This is your role and mine to impart that hope to each succeeding generation, including the young people who are growing up in a jaded and often hope-less culture.

As Knights, I ask that we build the Body of Christ by ushering in the “ new springtime” in the life of  the Church. May you and your Family realize all the blessings of the Easter Season through  prayers, reflections and sacrifices during this Lenten season? And may God continue to bless you!  Our Lady Queen of Knights…pray for us. up

A New Year's Message From Our Council Field Agent, JimMullen

To my Brother Knights, I would like to take this opportunity to wish you and your family all the Blessings of the Incarnate Word for a Holy, Happy, Healthy and Prosperous New Year from my wife, Martha, and I.  As we try to decide whether or not we are going to make, let alone keep, some New Year’s resolutions, regarding our physical, mental, spiritual or financial health.  How about insurance review with me your Council Field Agent?

One thing about insurance that I feel very strong about is having the right kind of insurance and not have been sold a “bill of goods” by an agent that did not help you or your family, but helped him and his family – THIS IS NOT RIGHT!!!

Whether you have K of C insurance or not, you are doing yourself and your family a real favor by giving me a call and setting up an appointment.  This is a “win-win” situation, as you will be dealing with one of the highest rated insurance companies in North America, and you will help the Knights help the Catholic Church and is CATHOLIC in your investments!!!  REMEMBER, THIS IS A BROTHER KNIGHT MEETING WITH A BROTHER KNIGHT AND HIS FAMILY!

Do the right thing, and give me a call today @ 302-373-3072 or my office 410-648-6908 or e-mail me @ james.mullenjr@KofC.orgup

Bishop Saltarelli Retiring

I am sure you read the details in the Dialog about our Bishop submitting his resignation to Pope Benedict once he reached 75.  He has asked the Knights of Columbus to coordinate the transportation of dignitaries for the installation of the new Bishop.   Brother Knights are asked to use their own cars and provide hospitable round-trip transportation to the Philadelphia Airport and the Amtrak station in Wilmington.  This would entail availability on both the day of and the day before the installation.  We are in the initial planning stages and are uncertain as to the exact time. If interested please call Brother Al Ware at 894-0726up
